About Rye and Ginger

Rye & Ginger have joined forces to create some great kits with the novice stitcher in mind. The kits were developed with the technology and hardware of Farthingales and the creative flair of Vogue Fabrics. Rye & Ginger is a great blend of drink and we think Rye and Ginger kits are a great blend of Canadian and American creativity.

So, who or what is Rye & Ginger? In this case it has nothing to do with the classic drink, well almost nothing. Rye is Vogue Fabrics of Evanston, Illinois namely  Rogie, and Ginger is Farthingales Corset Supply in Ontario, Canada – namely; Linda. Rye and Ginger met almost 10 years ago and their brainstorming started over a couple of glasses of…you guessed it…Rye and Ginger!  They’ve been tossing ideas back and forth for a long time and they both love this one that blends their talents to create kits. Kits they think you’ll love.  

Some of the reasons behind the creation of Rye and Ginger kits

• Take the intimidation away from corset making

• Get more people sewing – not everyone gets inspired by pajama bottoms but corsets are making a comeback.

• Open the image of the corset up, they’re not just underwear and they’re not sexual if you don’t make them sexy!

• Get more people interested in the art of corsetry, this is just a start – there is so much more to corsetry than this kit….but you’ve gotta start somewhere!
• And last but not least...they wanted an excuse to work on some thing together so you get the best of both of them. They love what they do and it shows in their product.
